Venison Processor

The Nantucket Land Bank is seeking qualified individuals to serve as venison processors. This new seasonal position has flexible hours with some weekends. Both full and part time schedules are available. The primary focus of this position is the safe, ethical, and efficient processing of donated venison for the Hunters Share the Harvest program.  Hunters Share the Harvest is the Massachusetts program that facilitates the processing and delivery of venison donated by hunters to food insecurity programs. This position will report to the Venison Processing Manager and will participate in all aspects of venison donation from acceptance of deer from the hunter, through meat processing, packing and labelling, to clean up as directed. Other tasks may be assigned as needed by the Venison Processing Manager. This position will build relationships with stakeholders to advance The Hunters Share the Harvest program.

Qualifications

Excellent attention to detail and extensive wild game processing experience are required. This position requires excellent communication skills and a willingness to speak with the public and deliver intended messages effectively. Qualified candidates will maintain a positive attitude and have an optimistic approach to challenges as well as a capacity to manage a variety of concurrent responsibilities efficiently.
