The Land Bank acquired Lily Pond Park in 1986. Located just a short walk from downtown, this park offers a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of Main Street. The majority of this parcel is a wetland, which provides valuable habitat for many plants and animals. This wetland also plays an important role in our local water cycle, collecting and filtering water before it is rechanneled to the harbor. Our network of boardwalks allows visitors to meander through the wetland while leaving a minimal impact on this fragile and valuable ecosystem.
At each entrance to the park there is an expansive lawn with a serene sitting area, which is ideal for picnics, birdwatching, or playing tag!
Lily Pond’s main entrance and parking lot is located at 17 North Liberty Street. There are additional entrances to the park located on Lily Street across from Academy Hill, 36 Lily Street, as well as an easement from Wesco Place.
Land Bank trails are marked by the post shown here. Most Land Bank trails are created as loops and if you follow the arrows—the trail should return you to where you began.
